Jon Kabat-Zinn summarizes the importance of meditation and suggests it is an essential tool for children to learn to use early in life.
In this video, Jon Kabbat-Zinn, who I think bares an uncanny resemblance to the late Steve Jobs, talks about how meditation works on the brain and ultimately on our emotions, particularly in times of stress.
Of particular interest to me was his vision about equipping all children with the skills to meditate as a sort of ‘antidote’ to the stresses that always come with daily life.
Managing stress as well as achieving your highest level of intellectual ability are key themes that resonate with me, especially in relation to children.
